43rd Annual Study Session in International and Comparative Law of Human Rights of the International Institute of Human Rights will taka place in Strasbourg on 9-27 July 2012 and will be dedicated to the International Human Rights Law and Personal Data Protection.
The opening lecture – Monday 9 July 2012 at Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Hemicycle chaired by Mr. Thorbjorn JAGLAND, Secretary General of the Council of Europe. The opening lecture will be taught by Ms Jennifer STODDART, Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Competition for russianspeaking participants
Presentation of the Session:
- Since 1969, the Institute organizes a teaching session in international and comparative human rights law every year, with the direction of experts in the field from different regions in the world.
Objective:
- This session permits about three hundred participants from nearly one hundred of countries, both to enhance and perfect their academic knowledge and to be confronted with the reality of diverse experiences.
Public:
- The programme, which is three weeks long and takes place in the month of July, is in particular intended for the following participants:
- Students with an advanced level in law, political sciences, human or social sciences ;
- Professors and researchers;
- Members of the legal profession or other professions dealing with human rights issues;
- National and international civil servants;
- Members of non-governmental organisations.
